Pranita is cofounder of Books For Change, a non-profit organization based in Switzerland, which operates in Nepal and India and supports the development of child-friendly libraries to improve the reading habits of the rural children. Since 2016 they have established a total of 18 libraries in schools.

Kenanah and Rame founded their Ltd. that offers catering and take away service with traditional Syrian meals cooked in the “slow food” style: fresh, home-made, and nourishing. For the future they are determined to have their own Syrian bistro or restaurant.

Michelle's goal is to bring the Chinese and Japanese Bento Box to Zurich and St. Gallen. She wants to work in a team with other people with a migration background and single parents. Siow offers catering services, takeaways and cooking classes, but in the longer term Michelle dreams of having her own restaurant.


Layla founded the Orient Express Catering that offers women with a migration background (particularly from Syria) the opportunity to work and finance themselves in Switzerland. She and her crew provide Kurdish and Arabic cuisine from Aleppo and run a webshop with Arabic delicacies homemade by the women.

Aimeerim Tursalieva started importing and selling traditional felt products from Kyrgyzstan and offers felting workshops. 2018 she expanded her business – Son Kol – by offering guided tours to the mountain of Kyrgyzstan, where people meet and learn from local female nomadic cooperatives to create their own felt products.

The Braid Box is a multicultural hair salon providing Afro hair care and hairstyling. They also provide a mobile hair salon. Created to foster integration through hair, Danelle believes that haircare and hair braiding is not just a routine, it is a strong tool to bring people from different cultures together.

Taro and Alessandra are the founders of Hosoe Caffè, an artisan specialty coffee roastery based in Zurich which focuses on positive social values, coupled with ethical and sustainable principles. They roast the coffee by themselves and provide it to individual coffee lovers as well to stores.

Reka's online grocery store offers high-quality Indian food and ingredients so that they are more accessible outside of the larger Swiss cities. She is well connected in India and can therefore import directly.


Zouher’s initiative, WeTheSouk, is focused on preserving the heritage of Levant crafts and sustaining the livelihood of Syrian artisans. WeTheSouk offers a line of handmade products that blend contemporary design with Levant craft traditions to create authentic art objects with context. These products are made by Syrian artisans and are to be sold in Switzerland on an online platform.

PAPYOT’s mission is to provide smart, tailored and sustainable gifts for everyone and every occasion.


Evospex is a chatbot with an algorithm taking agriculture-related data from a wide range of sources to create understandable short text recommendations on best practices in farming.


Founded in 2021, Le Jardin Vivant is a cooperative based in Lausanne that sells organic products in bulk as well as local vegetables and fruit from farmers of the region. The cooperative currently has over 80 members and a network of over 30 producers and growers.
